Pool Table Relocation
Planned around the access, not around the mileage.
The table comes apart in a set order: cloth lifted or removed, pockets and rails off, slate sections out flat, frame and legs broken down and wrapped. Slate rides on edge and strapped for transport; rails and legs ride padded, because a scratched rail is the souvenir of a rushed load.
Reassembly takes longer than disassembly and should. The frame is squared in its new position, the bed goes back down and is bolted, seams are filled, cloth is fitted, and the level is read and re-read until the table holds still. Where a building controls loading hours or a lift, the schedule is built backwards from that.
What sets the price
Across this city, access and timing move a quote further than distance does.
- Table size and slate type, because a one piece bed cannot take stairs that a three piece bed handles without comment.
- The route at each end: stair flights and their turns, gates, doorways, lifts, and the carry between the door and the nearest legal parking.
- Building requirements such as a booked lift, a certificate of insurance, or loading permitted only in set hours.
- One trip or two, which is what a flooring job or a storage stop usually means.
- Whether new cloth is fitted during the move, which costs less than bringing a crew back for it.
A photo of the table and one of the tightest point on the route will get you a firmer number than any amount of written description.
What finished looks like
The bed is read for level at the seams and at each pocket before the crew leaves, and read again once the cloth is on. A table that sends balls to one rail on its own has not been finished.
Work is booked into a morning or an early afternoon window and confirmed when the quote is accepted. Buildings that require a lift reservation or a certificate of insurance need a few days' notice, so say so early.
